Portability

Applies to Section 8 Vouchers ONLY.

The purpose of portability is to provide a voucher holder the right to seek housing opportunities where employment, education, or other opportunities are available.

A family may port from Area XV MCHA's jurisdiction to another Housing Authority's jurisdiction without the need of making application and being placed on the receiving Housing Authority's waiting list.

To inquire about portability, the family must contact Area XV MCHA
