Tenant is responsible for ALL utilities, including gas,
electricity, water, sewer, garbage.
Security deposit of $200 is required.
No exceptions.
$100 must be paid at the time the lease is signed. Then four payments of $25
must be paid in the first four months of the lease in addition to the rent.
Window treatments are not included in
the unit
Each unit has it’s own thermostat.
Each unit has one parking space
assigned.
No central air conditioning or window
air conditioners provided. There is a ‘box’ for the air conditioner if you have
one. The air conditioner cannot be installed in a window.
No garage
Cable TV is obtainable but not provided.
Phone service is obtainable but not
provided.
Tenant is responsible for yard care and
snow removal.

Steps to becoming a Public Housing Tenant
1. Application
is completed. Verification of Income and copies of Social Security cards
included with application.
2. Name
is placed on waiting lists indicated on the application according to date and
time of receipt and applicable preferences. Applicants that are residents
within our geographical area will be given 300 points. Applicants that are
victims of domestic violence will be given an additional 100 points. All
other applicants will receive 0 points.
3. When
name come to top of the waiting list, and a unit is available, a letter is sent
asking if you are interested in the unit. Applicant has 10 days from the date
of the letter to respond to the letter.
4. If
no response is received in the 10 days, the name is dropped from ALL Public
Housing waiting lists.
OR
4. If
applicant responds to letter, additional papers are sent/given to applicant for
completion. Applicant has 10 days from date papers are sent/given to have
papers returned to office.
5. Reference
requests are sent to the references listed on the application.
6. When
ALL paper work is received in office, file is submitted to Executive Director
for approval or disapproval.
7. If
disapproved, letter is sent to applicant advising of the disapproval and a
reason is given.
OR
8. If
approved, letter is sent advising applicant of approval, unit address and rent
amount. Applicant must contact office within 10 days to schedule a briefing.
9. When
the briefing appointment is set, applicant must contact the utility companies
and have gas, electric and water accounts changed into her/his/their name. The
applicant MUST bring the receipts showing the accounts in her/his name to the
briefing.
10. At
the briefing (which takes about 1 hour), the applicant MUST show the utility
receipts. Also the applicant MUST have at least $100 of the $200 security
deposit. The applicant may pay the entire security deposit if she/he desires.
The applicant MUST also pay prorated rent for the balance of the month. ALL
ADULTS IN HOUSEHOLD MUST ATTEND BRIEFING.
11. After
the briefing is completed, the tenant MUST meet a representative of the Agency
at the unit for the move-in inspection.
12. When
the move-in inspection is completed, the keys are handed to the tenant. The
tenant is free to move into the unit.
